New Cases Keep Coming Tricity’s Tally Hits 20!
Recently 6 new Coronavirus Cases emerged suddenly and altogether. Some of these new cases had reasonable history and cause but some of them just gave the authorities a surprise.
- Cases 1 and 2: A couple who came back from Canada just tested positive for the COVID-19.
- Case 3: The mother of the recent Dubai return ’15th day diagnosed’ patient also tested positive for the COVID-19. She is 42 years old.
- Cases 4 and 5: Two 23 y/o friends of the same Dubai returned patient also turned out to be COVID-19 positive. They met with him after his return from Dubai.
- Case 6: 65 y/o man from Nayagaon came in for a test on 18th March at the GMSH-16. He had just a cough then, and the doctors sent him back home with cough medicine. Even on his second visit on 25th March, he showed no symptoms of the disease.
In fact, the doctors started to check him for Swine flu instead because of the similarity in symptoms and also because of the recent surge of the same in Chandigarh.
Finally, he tested COVID-19 positive. Unfortunately, he was being kept at the emergency ward in the PGIMER, then. Because of this revelation, a total of 8 doctors, 22 nurses and 5 attendants have been quarantined.
The real issue that arises now, is to check whether other critical patients in the emergency ward have caught the infection or not. This miscalculation on the part of the screening teams can be life-threatening to those who were present in the emergency ward and already were in a comorbid and a critical condition.
