Introduction
Corona-virus is a group of viruses responsible to induce the onset of illnesses like a common cold or even something life-threatening like Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) or Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in humans.
Even though it originally was found only in animals, it is a zoonotic virus, i.e. something that can be transferred from animals to humans. A new strain of Corona-virus called the Coronaviridae-19/Coronavirus Disease-19(COVID19) was discovered in the year 2019, in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
COVID-19 Pandemic
The COVID-19 attacks the respiratory system of the victim and can even be life-threatening. The infamous disease can travel from one body to another via a mere shift of body droplets/fluid transfer, just like the common cold. Because of this special ability, the infection spread from the Chinese city of Wuhan to various other countries like Singapore, Iran, Italy, India, Japan, etc.
Being highly contagious, the COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Even though it was meant to bring awareness to people, this news created mass panic and paranoia across the world.

When the pandemic initially hit China, a mere 2% mortality rate was observed. Recent figures reveal an overall mortality rate to be around 5.6% globally whilst nearly 20% in Wuhan, the epicenter of the pandemic.
